About Withywoods

Nestled within the rolling hills of the English countryside, Withywoods stands as a testament to the enduring history of craftsmanship and artistic endeavour. Originally dating back to the 18th century, the estate flourished during the late 19th century as one of the homes of the Arts and Crafts movement led by visionaries such as William Morris, John Ruskin, and Philip Webb seeking to revive traditional craftsmanship and celebrate the beauty of handmade objects.

Today, our on-site studios are the home to skilled craftsmen and artists who remain dedicated to the Arts and Crafts commitment to handcrafted excellence. Our Withy Workshop specialises in creating the finest assets for prestigious film and television productions, alongside painters, sculptors, ceramicists, and many other creative talents.

Though not currently open to the public, Withywoods, steeped in the spirit of creativity and tradition, is an invitation to all craftspeople to immerse themselves in the timeless allure of handmade artistry. A testament to the enduring legacy of the Arts and Crafts movement, it stands as a living celebration the beauty of artisanal integrity.
